04/12/2007 - New Orleans, LA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The New Orleans Saints agreed to a one-year contract with free agent wide receiver David Patten on Thursday.

After four successful seasons with the Patriots, Patten signed with Washington in 2005 and suffered through two injury-plagued seasons with the Redskins.

In 2005, he sustained a knee injury that landed him on injured reserve after playing nine games. He had 22 catches for 217 yards before being placed on IR.

Last year, Patten battled a hamstring injury and had just one reception for 25 yards, after being inactive for most of the season.

Patten, a 10-year veteran, has hauled in 259 passes for 3,761 yards and 20 touchdowns with the New York Giants, Cleveland Browns, New England Patriots and Redskins.
